Scheduling Me Time!

As 2026 begins, I’m choosing balance on purpose. Not the dreamy, perfectly curated kind, but the real, daily kind that takes effort and intention. I’ve stepped into volunteer roles that matter to me, without stacking my plate so high that I’m running on fumes.

We’re back in the rhythm of school life. That means shuttling the twins to and from their college courses, managing my 8th grader’s work-from-home days, and walking the fine line between giving him enough to stay engaged without handing myself a one-way ticket to overwhelm. Balance. Always balance.

I’m also learning that rest only works when it’s protected. I’m getting things done so that when I carve out time to slow down, it actually feels restful. The goal is no longer to collapse after my battery is completely drained and hope a short break brings me back to life. I’m learning to pause sooner, recharge more fully, and stop treating exhaustion as the price of productivity.

Hope you have a great weekend and schedule some self-care. Consider this your friendly reminder. You’re welcome.
